At the head the gull dunes and lots of forest dunes, along the southern edge a bird promenade and a swamp inside the dike. As the northernmost peninsula, Schouwen Duiveland is ‘the crown on Zeeland’. Join in with a seafood banquet from the Oosterschelde. Stroll through charming seaside towns like Renesse and Haamstede. Go swimming, sailing or diving. Tracking deer, or watching birds. Or walk through the largest forest of Zeeland, in the protected nature area Kop van Schouwen.
Numerous hiking, cycling and riding trails lead along beautiful countryside. So vast that you never stumble upon each other. Under beautiful skies, in continuous new light. Towards the silence of Schouwen.
A lot of walkers leave Burgh Haamstede alone. That is a big mistake. If you are looking for peace and quietness, space and beautiful landscapes you can make beautiful walking-tours. And there is a lovely fresh sea-air.
The coast of Burgh Haamstede has wide beaches and offers magnificent views over the sea. From the view of the coast is beautiful. The beach lies shining in the sun and goes in a friendly curve with the sea and the sea can sometimes lighten unlikely bleu. And along the flood mark there are always people walking, weather or no weather. Burgh Haamstede is with all its catering industry at the sunny residence the stopping place for walkers.
