Zeepeduinen: dune landscape full of nature, history and viewpoints

Between Burgh-Haamstede and the Meeuwenduinen lie the Zeepeduinen. A dynamic nature reserve where wind and sand constantly shape the landscape.

Popular walking area: Sand drifts, dune grasslands and small dune pools make this a varied terrain, ideal for families and nature lovers.
Konik horses and cattle: Large grazers keep the area open and give the dunes their characteristic appearance.
Child-friendly: Playful dunes, small water pools and the chance to see animals up close make this an adventurous place.
Viewing platform Zeepeduinen: A high vantage point with wide panoramas over the dune area and surrounding nature.
Unique nature: The Zeepeduinen are part of the Natura 2000 site Kop van Schouwen, home to rare flora and fauna.

Spring: Fresh greenery, singing birds and blooming dune plants.
Summer: Sunny walks through open dunes with refreshing sea breezes.
Autumn: Warm colours, mushrooms and the chance to hear rutting fallow deer nearby.
Winter: A quiet, rugged beauty where you can peacefully enjoy nature.

Walking routes: Several lovely routes have been marked. For example:
- White walking route of 3.5 km from car park ‘Het Groene Duin’ on the Adriaan v/d Weijdeweg, accessible via the Bosweg.
- Red walking route of 5.5 km from car park Kriekemeet.
Tip: Bring binoculars to fully enjoy birds, Konik horses and the views from the bunkers and plateau.
Management: The Zeepeduinen are managed by Natuurmonumenten.
