Verklikkerduinen - Nature

The Verklikkerduinen are located on the southwest side of the Kop van Schouwen, just behind the Verklikkerstrand. This expansive and rugged dune landscape is a favourite spot for those seeking peace and for nature lovers.
- Colourful flora: In spring and summer, dune violets, orchids, wild thyme and countless other plants bloom, colouring the dunes.
- Varied landscape: Wet dune valleys, high dunes, sand drifts and grasslands create a unique variety of nature and views.
- Breeding ground of the nightjar: With some luck, you can hear this mysterious bird at dusk, especially in the summer months.
- Peace and space: Less crowded than the dunes near the popular beaches, ideal for a quiet walk in nature.
- Unique nature: The Verklikkerduinen are part of the Natura 2000 area Kop van Schouwen, home to rare plants and animals.
